The history of the Mural:
British landscape designer Humphrey Repton was renowned for the transformation options he offered owners of English estates in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He prepared "red books" for clients, showing their properties as they were, then (with the lift of a flap) how they would look if the estate owner used Repton's landscape designs. Our "Regency Views" mural was inspired by Repton's landscapes published in rare books in Colonial Williamsburg's John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Library.

The inaugural WILLIAMSBURG Mural Collection X Paul Montgomery re-envisions the rich design archive of Colonial Williamsburg the world's largest living history museum, within a modern sensibility.
